Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead and mentor a team of technicians to ensure high standards in sample fitting and garment construction.
• Arrange and participate in fitting meetings with the Design and Merchandising teams to refine style and fit.
• Review and fine-tune technicians’ fitting comments, balancing design intent with technical feasibility.
• Research market trends in garment blocks and sizing; provide recommendations on best practices and block development to relevant stakeholders.
• Collaborate with factories to resolve issues in pattern engineering, garment construction, and sewing techniques.
• Provide technical training and coaching to factories on G2000 garment construction standards.
• Approve red buckle samples and white bulk samples, ensuring alignment with quality and fit standards.
• Maintain and update basic blocks; develop new blocks to support evolving product lines.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in product and process quality.
• Travel to China factories occasionally to provide on-site technical support and ensure consistency.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Tertiary education in Textile, Clothing, or related disciplines preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience across woven, cut & sewn knit, and sweater categories.
• At least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong technical expertise in pattern making, garment specifications, and sample workmanship.
• Sound fabric knowledge and familiarity with the sample-making and garment-production processes.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team management skills.
• Positive-thinking, solution-oriented, and possesses a collaborative mindset.
• Demonstrates a can-do attitude and proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Proficient in PC applications, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to China sample rooms and factories.
