Job Responsibilities

Responsible for teaching biology and/or chemistry for the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) and/or international courses (such as GCE A-Level), covering compulsory and optional units, and designing clear and easy-to-understand teaching strategies to address common student difficulties.
Write lesson plans, classroom lectures, laboratory instruction manuals, and practice tests according to the course outline, ensuring that teaching content is closely aligned with evaluation requirements and the latest evaluation bureau guidelines.
If necessary, lead students to conduct safe and compliant experimental operations, including basic biochemical experiments, titration analysis, microscopic observation, DNA extraction, etc., and cultivate students’ scientific inquiry abilities and experimental report writing skills.
Participate in tutorial institutions' curriculum development activities and collaborate with teaching teams to optimize course progress, integrate cross-unit knowledge (such as metabolism and energy conversion, chemical equilibrium and cellular respiration), and strengthen disciplinary connectivity.

Work requirements

Holding a bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry or related sciences, with a teaching diploma (PGDE) or teacher registration qualification is preferred; current or former HKDSE/A-Level subject tutor experience is a necessary condition.
Familiar with the format, scoring criteria, and common loss points of biology and chemistry exams, you can effectively disassemble complex concepts (such as genetic pedigree analysis, organic reaction mechanisms, electrochemical calculations) and explain them with everyday examples.
Have solid experimental teaching skills, understand laboratory safety management regulations, be able to independently prepare experimental equipment, control variables and guide students to analyze the source of errors.
Have good communication and expression skills and patience, be good at teaching according to students’ abilities, and be able to establish a positive interactive classroom atmosphere and show continuous support attitude to students with weaker learning motivation.
Can be flexible in teaching hours (including weekends and after school), with basic digital teaching tool application skills (such as using PowerPoint, Google Classroom or online whiteboard for remote counseling).
