New Life Rehabilitation Society

New Life Mental Health Rehabilitation Society, established in 1965, was initially founded by Dr. Liu Man-hua, the director of Lo Wai Hospital, and a group of mentally ill rehabilitation individuals in Hong Kong, originally named 'New Life Mutual Aid Society'. It is a non-profit social service organization dedicated to providing mental health services, striving for equal opportunities for those with mental illness, assisting them in improving their quality of life, aiming at full integration into society. New Life Society actively promotes mutual aid among the rehabilitated through diversified professional services including accommodation services, vocational rehabilitation services, community support services, family services, etc. Additionally, it operates multiple social enterprises such as New Life Farm, New Life Cake Beauty, café 330, etc., providing employment opportunities for the rehabilitated while promoting public awareness and support for mental health. Since its registration as a limited company under the Companies Ordinance in 1968, New Life Society has continuously grown and developed, becoming a member of the World Federation of Mental Health and the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, joining the Hong Kong Community Chest in 1970. The scope of New Life Society's services has expanded over time, encompassing not only traditional rehabilitation services but also areas like self-help work, autism services, clinical psychological services, fully supporting the needs of those with mental illness. In 2019, Ms. Feng Danmei took on the role of CEO, and since June 15, 2021, Mr. Zhu Shiming, the former professional services manager, has taken over, committed to elevating the quality of services provided by New Life Society, bringing more hope and support to the rehabilitated and their families.
