Overall, the Design Engineer for INNOVATION AI LIMITED should be highly experienced in the research, design, development, and execution of innovative mechanical systems, advanced materials, and product encasing solutions for next-generation and interactive technologies. The engineer will be responsible for transforming conceptual inventions into manufacturable, ergonomic, and durable physical products that seamlessly integrate electronic, sensor-based, and software-driven systems, which, in the case of the company, include but are not limited to the following:

(1) Innovative Materials Research and Mechanical Design

The engineer will research, evaluate, and develop various innovative materials suitable for wearable and handheld devices incorporating pressure, motion, neurological, and haptic sensors, including but not limited to conductive fibres and e-textiles. This includes designing mechanical structures, housings, and internal frameworks that optimize sensor performance, durability, flexibility, comfort, and aesthetic appeal. The role requires prototyping and testing multiple physical configurations to support diverse musical interaction methods through physical movement, touch, and gesture.

(2) Human-Centered Design and User Research Integration

Collaborate closely with software engineers, product designers, and research teams to incorporate user research findings into the physical design process. Analyse ergonomic data, usage scenarios, and behavioral patterns to ensure the mechanical design supports realistic, intuitive, and comfortable music creation experiences. Conduct iterative testing, usability evaluations, and design refinements based on user feedback and real-world interaction data.

(3) Technology Feasibility, Manufacturing, and Compatibility Assessment

Assess the feasibility of proposed mechanical designs in relation to existing electronic architectures, sensor technologies, and manufacturing constraints. Identify technical limitations, tolerances, and material trade-offs while ensuring compatibility with embedded electronics, batteries, and connectivity components that interface with iOS, Android, Mac, and Windows platforms. Prepare designs for scalable manufacturing, including material sourcing, tooling considerations, and assembly processes.

(4) Mechanical Integration for Gesture and Sensor Performance

Design enclosures, form factors, and mechanical interfaces that enhance the accuracy and reliability of gesture recognition, pressure sensitivity, and haptic feedback. Work closely with AI and software teams to ensure mechanical designs support precise sensor placement, vibration control, motion capture, and long-term calibration stability. Investigate novel mechanical mechanisms and form factors that enable expressive and dynamic musical gestures.

(5) Product Aesthetics, Durability, and Environmental Considerations

Develop visually distinctive, brand-aligned product designs that balance aesthetics with structural integrity and long-term durability. Select materials and finishes that withstand repeated physical interaction while maintaining a premium look and feel. Consider sustainability, wear resistance, environmental exposure, and lifecycle performance to deliver innovative products that meet both creative and commercial expectations.
