Senior Officer (Market Development) – Financial Sector Development
The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) is responsible for maintaining the stability and integrity of the monetary and financial systems of Hong Kong.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct research and analysis on industry trends, business practices, government policies, legal, regulatory, tax and other issues related to Hong Kong's competitiveness as an international financial center (with emphasis on the development of Hong Kong's asset and wealth management industry), and contribute to the preparation of relevant research outcomes/analyses
* Handle daily operational tasks such as progress monitoring and communication with external entities regarding financial sector development initiatives
* Offer administrative and logistical assistance
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree, preferably in finance, economics, law, business or related fields
* At least three years of professional experience in finance, asset and wealth management or related sectors
* Strong knowledge of financial markets and the asset and wealth management industry; prior experience dealing with pertinent policy or regulatory matters is advantageous
* Excellent analytical, writing, communication, project management, presentation, and organizational skills
* Attention to detail and quick learning ability
* Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Mandarin
(Applicants with less experience may also be considered for a position at the Officer level.)
Terms of Service

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) was established on 1 April 1993 by merging the Office of the Exchange Fund with the Office of the Commissioner of Banking. Its main functions and responsibilities are governed by the Exchange Fund Ordinance and the Banking Ordinance and it reports to the Financial Secretary. The HKMA is the government authority in Hong Kong responsible for maintaining monetary and banking stability. Its main functions are: - maintaining currency stability within the framework of the Linked Exchange Rate System - promoting the stability and integrity of the financial system, including the banking system - helping to maintain Hong Kong's status as an international financial centre, including the maintenance and development of Hong Kong's financial infrastructure - managing the Exchange Fund.
