Crypto Quant Trader (Spot Active Strategy)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Crypto Quant Trader who specializes in active spot trading strategies. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of orderbook dynamics, liquidity, and algorithmic trading approaches to capitalize on intraday or multi-day opportunities in the spot market.

Key Responsibilities:

Active Strategy Design & Execution

Develop, refine, and execute intraday and swing trading strategies focused on spot markets across various crypto assets.

Conduct quantitative research on short-term market patterns, volume spikes, momentum shifts, and liquidity imbalances.

Use advanced order types (post-only, iceberg, TWAP/VWAP) to optimize fills and minimize market impact.

Market Analysis & Alpha Generation

Analyze on-chain data, exchange orderbooks, and sentiment indicators to identify emerging trends or anomalies.

Continuously evaluate performance metrics (Sharpe ratio, drawdown, hit rate) to adjust and improve strategies.

Implement event-driven trading around significant crypto news, protocol upgrades, and macro announcements.

Performance Monitoring & Optimization

Monitor real-time PnL, slippage, and transaction costs to ensure the strategy remains profitable under varying market conditions.

Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to integrate new data sources and refine existing alpha models.

Leverage machine learning or statistical techniques (where relevant) to enhance predictive signals and optimize execution.

Collaboration & Infrastructure

Work closely with engineering teams to build and maintain an efficient trade execution and monitoring platform.

Assist in designing robust backtesting environments for continuous iteration on trading ideas.

Support the creation of automated risk controls, failsafes, and circuit breakers to protect against extreme market moves.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative or technical discipline (Computer Science, Math, Finance) or equivalent experience.

2+ years of crypto-focused or electronic trading experience, with a proven record of consistent profitability in spot markets.

Technical Skills

Proficient in Python (preferred), R, or C++ for quantitative research and strategy implementation.

Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases, data extraction methods (API, WebSocket), and real-time analytics dashboards.

Knowledge of machine learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow) is a plus, but not strictly required.

Financial & Crypto Knowledge

In-depth understanding of crypto spot market structures, liquidity provision, and exchange fee schedules.

Experience dealing with multiple trading venues (centralized and/or decentralized) and bridging liquidity among them.

Awareness of market microstructure, front-running risks, and best practices for order execution.

Excellent communication skills for presenting research findings and collaborating with team members.
