Skills and qualifications required

1. Education and license:

• Generally require secondary school graduation (Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination or equivalent academic qualifications), some companies may require a college degree or above.

• Must hold a real estate broker license issued by the Real Estate Agent Regulatory Authority (individual license or salesperson license). Application for a license requires passing relevant exams (such as the real estate broker qualification exam or the salesperson qualification exam).

• Good communication skills in Chinese and English (written and oral), familiar with Cantonese, and fluent in Mandarin are preferred.

2. Professional skills:

• Communication and negotiation skills: Able to effectively communicate with customers of different backgrounds, persuasive and good at negotiation.

• Sales ability: Have sales skills, be able to quickly establish customer trust and complete transactions.

• Market sensitivity: Understand real estate market dynamics and be familiar with property prices in different areas.

• Time management: Able to handle multiple customers and projects at the same time, with good organizational skills.

3. Personal traits:

• Proactive: Customer managers need to actively seek out customers and opportunities, and actively follow up on transaction progress.

• Stress resistance: The real estate industry is highly competitive, and it is necessary to cope with high-pressure environments and challenging customer requirements.

• Honesty and professionalism: Maintain high moral standards, ensure transparency in transactions and compliance with regulations.

• Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues and other professionals to complete transactions.

4. Technical skills:

• Understand how to use social media and online platforms to promote properties (such as Facebook, Instagram or real estate websites).

Working environment and challenges

• Work hours: Real estate customer managers have flexible work hours, but often need to work at night or on weekends to accommodate their customers’ schedules.
