Backend Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Development: Design, develop, test, and deploy robust, scalable, and maintainable backend services and APIs.

• Architecture: Contribute to system architecture decisions, focusing on performance, reliability, and scalability.

• Cloud Infrastructure: Build, manage, and optimize applications within a cloud-native environment (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

• Database Management: Design and interact with both SQL and NoSQL databases, ensuring data integrity and optimal performance.

• Collaboration: Work closely with front-end developers, product managers, and DevOps engineers to deliver end-to-end features.

• Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers, promoting best practices in software engineering.

• Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot complex issues across the entire stack, from performance bottlenecks to production incidents.

• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, advocating for improvements in our codebase and processes.

Qualifications & Must-Have Skills

• 5+ years of professional hands-on experience in backend software development.

• Strong proficiency in at least one of the following backend languages/frameworks:

  • .NET (C#)

  • Java (Spring Boot)

  • Python (Django, Flask, FastAPI)

  • Node.js

  • Ruby (Ruby on Rails)

• Proven experience with at least one major Cloud platform:

  • AWS (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB)

  • Azure (e.g., App Services, Functions, Cosmos DB, SQL Database)

  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

• Solid understanding of database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis).

• Extensive experience in designing and consuming RESTful APIs; knowledge of GraphQL is a plus.

• Practical experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

• Proficiency with version control systems, preferably Git.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and agile development methodologies.
