Data / Database Architect (HK$50K - $70K+) (Ref. No.: 27696)

Our client, a well-known financial related statutory body is looking for high-calibre person to fill the position.

Responsibilities:-

• Lead the evaluation and POC testing of data catalogue, data governance, and data warehouse database solutions for the enterprise data platform.

• Define assessment criteria, conduct product comparisons, and recommend the best-fit solution based on technical and business requirements.

• Assess the current-state data landscape, dependencies, and technical gaps.

• Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and assess integration, security, scalability, performance, and operability.

• Perform hands-on testing and analysis of different data platforms.

• Prepare POC results, recommendation reports, and implementation roadmap for management review.

• Support vendor meetings, solution demonstrations, and technical workshops.

Requirements:-

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline with at least 5 years of experience in IT field.

• Proven experience as a Data Architect or Database Architect in enterprise data platform projects.

• Strong hands-on knowledge of database, data warehouse, data catalogue and data governance.

• Strong hands-on knowledge of Oracle database.

• Experience with at least one Chinese database platform, such as GaussDB, OceanBase, or TDSQL.

• Experience evaluating or implementing data catalogue, data governance, metadata management, lineage, or data quality tools (e.g. OpenMetadata, Dataphin, DataArts, etc.).

• Experience in cloud or hybrid data platform environments is an advantage.

• Good understanding of data warehouse architecture, SQL, and data integration.

• Experience in producing architecture documents, evaluation reports, and executive summaries.

• Strong vendor management and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and deliver within the contract period.
