As the core guarantor of ship electrification compliance and engineering implementation, you will ensure that all company products and solutions fully comply with international maritime regulations and classification society rules. You need to be proficient in ship vibration and noise control, as well as electricization modification processes, provide professional maritime engineering guidance to the R&D team, and build a key bridge between innovative technology and maritime compliance, thereby pushing the project to successfully pass certification and achieve commercial application.
As the core guardian of compliance and engineering implementation in marine electrification, you will ensure all company products and solutions fully adhere to international maritime regulations and classification society standards. Your mission is to master ship vibration and noise control and electrification retrofitting processes, provide professional marine engineering guidance to the R&D team, serve as a vital link between innovative technology and maritime compliance, and facilitate successful project certification and commercial deployment.
Core Responsibilities / Key Responsibilities
1. Regulatory Compliance & Certification
· Track and interpret the latest regulations and standards of the Hong Kong Maritime Department (HKMD), the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and mainstream classification societies (such as DNV, ABS, CCS, LR, etc.), ensuring that product design starts from the conceptual stage and is fully compliant.

· Lead and coordinate the type approval, product certification and whole ship design review process of the electric propulsion system and related components, compile and submit application documents, and respond efficiently to ship surveyor comments.

· Responsible for the comprehensive analysis, evaluation and optimization of ship vibration and noise (NVH) control, formulate a vibration and noise reduction implementation plan, and ensure comfort and compliance.

· Proficient in the whole process of traditional ship electrification modification, providing modification scheme design, feasibility analysis and comprehensive risk assessment.
Master key technical aspects of the end-to-end electrification retrofitting process for conventional vessels; provide retrofitting solution design, feasibility analysis, and comprehensive risk assessment.
3. Project Collaboration & Consultation
· Dive deep into the product development team, provide continuous maritime engineering input and compliance review at each stage of concept, detailed design, testing, etc., identify and mitigate potential technical risks.
Embed within product development teams to provide continuous marine engineering input and compliance reviews across all stages (concept, detailed design, testing); identify and mitigate potential technical risks.
· Serve as a technical interface between the company and classification societies, ship design institutes, shipowners and shipyards, providing professional interpretation and solutions to regulatory and engineering issues.

Requirements / Qualifications
Education & Experience / Qualifications & Experience
· Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Marine Engineering, or related fields with a bachelor's degree or higher.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or a related field.
· More than 5 years of maritime industry experience, with a background in shipyards, ship design companies, classification societies or related consulting institutions.
5+ years of experience in the maritime industry, with a background in shipyards, ship design companies, classification societies, or related consulting firms.
· At least participate in 2 complete ship projects (new construction or major modification), those who have experience in new energy ships or electrification modification are preferred.
Experience in at least two complete ship projects (new building or major retrofit); experience in new energy vessels or electrification retrofits is highly preferred.
Professional skills / Technical Competencies
· Proficient in international maritime laws and regulations (such as IMO conventions, MODU rules) and at least two mainstream classification societies (such as DNV, ABS, CCS) standards systems.

· Master the theory and practical methods of ship vibration and noise (NVH) control, and be familiar with related analysis software (such as SESAM, NASTRAN)

· In-depth understanding of key ship engineering principles such as ship electrical system layout, safe return to port, and hazardous area classification.

Holding a Certificate of Competency as a Marine Engineer Officer or related professional certification is preferred.
· Priority will be given to those with direct cooperation experience with the Hong Kong Maritime Department.
Direct working experience with the Hong Kong Marine Department (HKMD) is preferred.
· Priority will be given to those with a Hong Kong ID or valid work visa.
