Role Overview

As a Radiologist, you will play a vital role in analyzing diagnostic imaging studies and collaborating with healthcare professionals to recommend appropriate imaging techniques. Your expertise will help improve patient diagnosis and treatment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret Imaging Studies: Analyze and report on various diagnostic studies to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.

  • Collaborate with Physicians: Consult with referring doctors and other healthcare professionals to discuss patient cases and recommend imaging techniques.

  • Perform Procedures: Conduct or supervise minimally invasive procedures using advanced imaging guidance.

  • Ensure Compliance: Adhere to radiation safety protocols and quality assurance standards to maintain high levels of patient safety.

  • Participate in Meetings: Engage in on-call duties, tumor boards, and departmental meetings.

  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on advancements in radiology technology and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Medical Degree: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with a valid medical license to practice.

  • Residency and Certification: Completion of an accredited residency in Diagnostic Radiology and board certification in Radiology.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a hospital or clinical setting; fellowship training in a subspecialty is preferred.

  • Skills: Proficient in interpreting advanced imaging modalities, with excellent analytical and communication skills.

Job Title: Radiologist (annual salary of HKD 250,000–350,000)

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for analyzing and diagnosing various medical imaging examinations (including X-rays, ultrasound, computer tomography CT, magnetic resonance imaging MRI, and nuclear medicine), writing professional imaging reports, and supporting clinical diagnosis and treatment decisions

  • Collaborate closely with referring physicians and other specialist medical teams, participate in case discussions, imaging technology advice and multi-disciplinary consultations (such as tumor consultations), and provide imaging professional opinions

  • Execute or guide minimally invasive procedures (such as biopsy, drainage, ablation therapy) under image guidance

  • Strictly follow radiation protection guidelines, quality assurance standards, and local medical regulations to ensure patient safety and diagnostic imaging quality

  • Shifts include participation in emergency and night-time duty schedules, and regular attendance at departmental meetings, teaching rounds, and continuous quality improvement activities

  • Actively participate in medical education, clinical research, and new technology application evaluation, and promote departmental professional development

Work requirements

  • Holding a recognized medical school degree (MBBS/MD/DO), and with valid registration qualifications from the Hong Kong Medical Council

  • Completed recognized diagnostic radiology residency training and obtaining a radiology subspecialty qualification (such as the FHKAM (Radiology) or equivalent recognition qualifications from the United States/United Kingdom/Canada)

  • Have at least 3 to 5 years of practical experience in the radiology department of a hospital or large clinical institution; those who have undergone subspecialty training (such as neuro-radiology, abdominal radiology, interventional radiology or oncological radiology) are preferred.

  • Proficient in operating mainstream imaging equipment and PACS systems, with the ability to independently interpret complex images and integrate cross-modal analysis

  • Have excellent logical analysis, clinical reasoning, and cross-professional communication skills; be able to communicate and write fluently in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English

  • Must be a permanent resident of Hong Kong, meet the local professional and work visa related statutory requirements
