Job Description:
Providing the Technical Support Services (TSS)
- Resolve all problems and support issues arising from the usage of the computer facilities of the office;
- Provide day-to-day administration, operation and management of the computer facilities;
- To take video for a series of the Professional Development Activities (PDA);
- To assist in preparing teaching materials such as power point presentation, video clipping, production of audio-visual teaching resources, etc.;
- Provide support in problem solving, setting up and configuring the hardware and software (inside and outside office) for specific purposes (e.g. PDA, special functions or events); and
- Manage IT office equipment, i.e. the loan services, stocktaking, etc.
Scope of the Services:
Under this Agreement, the Contractor is required to assign ONE full-time TSS Staff to provide the EDB with the required services to keep the computer network(s) and equipment(s) in a good working order and help users to overcome difficulties such as daily network maintenance, software/hardware preparation, malfunctioning, accidental system failure and assist the PDA arrangement.
The Technical Support Service will cover following types of services:-
(a) To provide IT and technical support for the production of audio-visual learning teaching resources and in the running of team-level and section level PDAs;
(b) To assist in management and utilization of IT and office equipment including providing loan services of notebooks computers and AV equipment;
(c) To assist in developing and maintaining the Section's website;
(d) To assist in stocking of IT, AV and office equipment;
(e) To deal with maintenance matters, upkeep and maintain the maintenance records of all IT and office equipment;
(f) To provide IT training courses and materials to users in the office;
(g) To assist in revamping the internal e-resources bank and the e-management platform, as well as building up and analyzing database for the Section; and
(h) To undertake any other duties as assigned.
Requirement Details:
Job Requirement:
- A higher diploma in computer subjects from a Hong Kong polytechnic/polytechnic university, or equivalent; or
- Holder of a degree awarded by a university in Hong Kong, or a degree awarded by an overseas education institution to a Hong Kong resident, or equivalent;
- Five subjects, including English Language (Syllabus B before 2007) AND Chinese Language, at Level 2 (or Grade E before 2007) or above in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination, or equivalent;
- Fluency in spoken English, Cantonese and Putonghua and in written English and Chinese;
- At least two years' experience in the control and operation of computer systems such as LINUX, Windows, Netware or helpdesk/computer network operation, or writing MS Windows application system. or LAN administration, or PC/LAN support services.
- At leastone year's relevant experience in a government department.
