Chief of Design/ Principal Industrial Designer

Key Responsibilities

• Design Leadership and Strategy: Define and champion a cohesive design vision across all product lines, ensuring it aligns with business goals and market trends.
• Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary design team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and design excellence.
• Product Innovation: Drive the end-to-end design process for new and existing products, from initial research and ideation to prototyping, testing, and final production.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product management, engineering, marketing, and sales teams to deliver a seamless and compelling user experience.
• Brand Stewardship: Ensure all design outputs reinforce and elevate the company’s brand identity and promise.

Skills & Experience Required

• Extensive Design Expertise: Proven track record in a senior design leadership role, with a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in industrial design, graphic design, and UI/UX design.
• Industry Focus: Deep knowledge of the sports or smart wearable devices market, including a comprehensive understanding of relevant technologies, materials, and user behaviors.
• Leadership Acumen: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage large, diverse design teams, with a focus on mentorship and professional development.
• Strategic Thinking: Exceptional strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex business objectives into clear, actionable design strategies.
• Technical Proficiency: Fluency with industry-standard design and prototyping tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma).
• Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating design vision and rationale to stakeholders at all levels.
