Position: Multi-physics Field Simulation Engineer – Smart Manufacturing (Full-Time)

Location: Hong Kong Science and Technology Park, Shatin, Hong Kong

Department: AI/ML R&D Team

Job Summary:

Multi-physics Field Simulation Engineer will spearhead the development and integration of Multi-physics Field Simulation within Laservall’s product line. In this role, you will firstly work on new soldering workpiece Multi-physics Field Simulation aimed at shortening r&d and experiment lead time, minimize test resources’ cost and finally building a long-term field-setup strategy and system. And work on product performance improvement and new product proposal. You will work cross-functionally with design, process engineering, and product development teams to embed simulation into our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for Multi-physics Field Simulation analysis of products/projects, outputting simulation reports and proposing optimization suggestions;

• Based on mainstream CAE software for secondary development, customize automation scripts, plugins or interface tools to improve simulation efficiency;

• Develop customized solvers or optimization algorithms for complex engineering problems to optimize the accuracy and computational performance of simulation models;

• Write automated scripts (such as Python/APDL/Tcl) to implement parametric modeling, batch computing, and result post-processing;

• Collaborate with design, testing, and development teams to convert simulation results into actual engineering improvement plans;

Qualifications:

• Master/PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related fields. Proficiency in Precision Machine Design will be an advantage.

• The research and development field involves finite element technology for melting metals such as material nonlinearity, geometric nonlinearity, impact, splashing, fluid structure coupling, solidification, and coupling problems with other physical fields.

• Have a strong foundation in fluid science, thermodynamics, and numerical methods, proficient in finite element technology, and have corresponding code development experience, preferably with interdisciplinary simulation software development experience.

• Skilled in CAD tools.

• Proficiency in Comsol, ANSYS, or other CAE simulation tools.

• Advanced skills in C/C++.

• Familiar with linux shell, version control tools (e.g., Git).

• Familiarity with Python is a plus.

• Familiarity with parallel algorithms and tools such as MPI,CUDA, OpenCL is a plus.

• Good command of spoken and written English.

• Good command of spoken Chinese is a plus.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally. Open to learning new technologies and willing to work in a diverse environment

• May require occasional same-day round trips to our Shenzhen office.
