<p><strong>Position</strong> : Bengali <> English Interpreter (Simultaneous / Consecutive )</p><p> <strong>Location</strong>: Hong Kong</p><p>Project-based <strong>Language Pair</strong> : Bengali <> English (both directions)</p><p><strong>Job Responsibilities</strong>:</p><ul><li>Provide accurate and culturally appropriate interpretation (consecutive, simultaneous, or whisper) between Bengali and English.</li><li>Interpret during meetings, conferences, medical appointments, legal proceedings, interviews, training sessions, or customer support calls.</li><li>Ensure confidentiality and impartiality at all times.</li><li>Sight translation of short documents when required.</li><li>Maintain professional terminology and tone suited to the context (medical, legal, business, technical, etc.).</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong>:</p><ul><li>Native or near-native fluency in both Bengali and English.</li><li>Minimum 2–3 years of professional interpretation experience (preferred in medical, legal, or business settings).</li><li>Excellent listening, memory, and note-taking skills.</li><li>Certification is a strong advantage (e.g., court interpreter certification, medical interpreter training, DPI, AIIC, or equivalent).</li><li>Familiarity with simultaneous interpretation equipment (for on-site roles).</li><li>Strong cultural awareness of both Bengali-speaking and English-speaking regions.</li><li>Reliable high-speed internet and quiet environment (for remote roles).</li><li>Availability for on-call or short-notice assignments (if applicable).</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong>:</p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree or higher (any field).</li><li>Experience with remote interpretation platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, InterpretCloud, Boostlingo, etc.).</li><li>Additional Indian languages (Hindi, Assamese, etc.) will be a plus.</li></ul><p><strong>What We Offer</strong>:</p><ul><li>Competitive per-minute or hourly rates / fixed monthly salary.</li><li>Flexible working hours.</li><li>Regular assignments and long-term collaboration.</li><li>Training and professional development opportunities.</li><li>Timely payments.</li></ul>
