We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Researcher in Distributed Photovoltaics and Distribution Grid Security to join our dynamic team. This role is critical in advancing our understanding of how distributed photovoltaic (PV) systems impact the safe operation of distribution grids. It is ideal for someone passionate about renewable energy, grid stability, and cutting-edge research.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct in-depth research on the impact of distributed PV systems on the secure operation of distribution grids, including power quality, voltage stability, and protection coordination.
2. Develop and validate analytical models and simulation tools to assess the interaction between PV systems and distribution networks.
3. Analyze big data from smart meters, grid sensors, and PV inverters to identify risks and propose mitigation strategies.
4. Draft technical reports, research papers, and patents to document findings and innovations.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including utility engineers, policymakers, and equipment manufacturers, to implement solutions.
6. Engage in the full cycle of research and development, from problem identification to solution deployment and performance evaluation.
Qualifications:
1. PhD in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field. Candidates with a Master's degree and extensive experience are also welcome to apply.
2. Strong knowledge of power systems, including load flow analysis, fault analysis, and grid stability.
3. Experience with software tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, or OpenDSS.
4. 1-3 years of experience in distributed PV system modeling, grid impact studies, or related fields.
5. Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python, R, or C++.
6. Knowledge of state-of-the-art machine learning techniques for analyzing grid data is a plus.
7. Solid understanding of regulatory and technical standards related to PV systems and grid interconnections (e.g., IEEE 1547, IEC standards).
8. Strong experience in technical writing and presenting research findings.
