Fire engineering

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for the overall management of fire engineering projects, including project planning, execution and acceptance, ensuring that the project meets the technical and safety standards of the Hong Kong Fire Department and relevant laws.

• Must conduct on-site supervision at the construction site, coordinate subcontractors (boss) and construction workers’ progress, and solve technical and process problems on the spot.

• Coordinate the specification review, purchase order, delivery follow-up, and on-site acceptance of fire protection system materials to ensure that equipment and materials meet design specifications and certification requirements.

• Strictly control engineering costs, regularly compile budget execution analysis reports, monitor actual expenses and budget differences, and implement cost-saving measures.

• Host and participate in site meetings, write meeting minutes and progress reports, and synchronize updates to customers, consultants and general contractors to ensure information transparency and smooth collaboration among all parties.

• Have a high diploma or associate degree, majoring in mechanical and electrical engineering, building equipment engineering, fire engineering or related fields; those with a Hong Kong-recognized professional qualification in fire engineering are preferred.

• Having 3 to 5 years of local fire engineering project site management experience, familiar with automatic sprinkler systems, fire alarm detection and alarm systems, indoor fire hydrants and portable fire extinguishing equipment, etc. installation and testing procedures.

• Proficient in Cantonese communication, able to read and write technical documents, specifications and emails in English; with basic MS Office and engineering management software, AutoCAD operation ability.

• Have good organizational and coordination skills and sense of responsibility, be able to handle multiple tasks independently, adapt to the site environment and Saturday work schedule (Monday to Friday, 09:00–18:00, Saturday, 09:00-13:00).
