Silicon Photonics Engineer

OptiHK Limited is a fabless design house for silicon photonic integrated circuits and modules . Our mission is to create silicon photonics system-on-chip products and modules that will empower companies to develop advanced compact systems, improving performance beyond what can be achieved with conventional microelectronics or bulk optical systems.

Role Description

As a member of the core R&D team, you will be engaged in the design of silicon photonics IC as the core component of our product.

• Design, and simulate active and passive silicon photonic devices, such as high-speed modulators, photodetectors, grating/edge couplers, and multiplexers/demultiplexers.
• Perform device and circuit-level simulations using industry-standard tools (e.g., Ansys Lumerical, COMSOL, HFSS).
• Work with systems engineers to understand top-level requirements and translate them into component and circuit specifications.

Qualifications

• Ph.D./Master/Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Optoelectronics, Photonics, Optical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience in the design and layout of silicon photonic integrated circuits.
• Experience with tape-outs to commercial silicon photonics foundries and familiarity with their design and manufacturing processes.
