Senior Accounting Assistant – Accounts Payable & Payment

High-level Accounting Assistant (carrying functional job title Senior Accounting Officer II) – Accounts Payable & Payment
Caritas - Hong Kong is a Catholic charitable agency which provides, among others, multi-service social welfare/services to needy people of Hong Kong. The Finance Office is looking for responsible and diligent candidates for the following position.
Main Responsibilities
1. Assist AS in overseeing the work of Accounting Assistants and other subordinates to manage daily accounts payable and payment operations;
2. Coordinate the payment function, including but not limited to cheque payments, direct bank payments, T/T, bank drafts, auto-payments, ensuring financial obligations of the organization are settled before their due dates;
3. Monitor cash flows to ensure adequate funds are available across various bank accounts for making payments;
4. Maintain accurate records of transactions to ensure all transactions are verified, supported, and recorded, and properly authorized before payment;
5. Assist in monthly and annual closing procedures, as well as any individual audits if needed;
6. Communicate with internal and external parties regarding accounting matters;
7. Help streamline financial processes using technology;
8. Participate in fundraising activities such as Caritas Bazaar; and
9. Undertake other ad-hoc tasks as required.
Requirements
1. Hold a Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Accounting/Business Management/Commerce or equivalent with relevant work experience (at least 2 years for degree holders and 5 years for diploma holders), and preferably possess LCCI Level II/III Certificate in Book-keeping and Accounts;
2. Have familiarity with major ERP systems is advantageous but not mandatory;
3. Be proficient in MS Office (Excel & Word) and Chinese word processing;
4. Demonstrate attention to detail, self-motivation, a proactive attitude, teamwork skills, ability to work independently under pressure with tight deadlines, diligence, strong organizational skills, eagerness to learn, flexibility, and patience; and
5. Immediate availability is preferred.
Salary: Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Contract : A 1-year full-time contract will be provided, followed by contract renewals based on performance.
