Junior Risk Management Officer – Asset Management

About the Client / Team

Our client is a renowned asset management firm seeking a proactive Junior Risk Management Officer to join their Risk Management team. Reporting directly to the Senior Risk Officer, you will play a key role in monitoring investment portfolios and operational processes, ensuring compliance with internal policies, client mandates, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Framework Implementation: Support the implementation and enhancement of the firm’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework, spanning both investment risk and operational risk dimensions.

• Monitoring & Reporting: Conduct daily risk limit monitoring and generate routine reporting to ensure investment portfolios strictly comply with regulatory requirements, fund offering documents, and internal risk parameters.

• Risk Assessment: Participate in comprehensive risk assessments for current investment strategies, portfolio holdings, and proposed new business initiatives or products.

• Policy Maintenance: Assist in preparing risk management reports for management review and maintaining an up-to-date, robust risk policy framework.

• Risk Investigation: Assist with ad-hoc risk incidents, conducting investigations and root-cause analyses as needed.

• Ad-Hoc Support: Provide support on special projects, risk automation efforts, and duties assigned by senior management.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or above in Risk Management, Statistics, Economics, Financial Technology (FinTech), or a related quantitative discipline.

• Experience: 1–2 years of hands-on experience in investment risk, operational risk, or financial risk analysis within asset management or broader financial services.

• Technical Skills:

  • Solid understanding of portfolio performance attribution, risk metrics, and derivatives risk management.

  • Practical experience with Bloomberg AIM and Python (or related scripting/analytics tools) is highly preferred.

• Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical and logical reasoning skills, strong cross-functional communication abilities, and the resilience to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

• Languages: Full professional fluency in both written and spoken English and Mandarin.
