Responsible for the comprehensive proofreading of books, magazines, newspapers, electronic publications and other manuscripts to ensure accurate text, correct punctuation, uniform format, and smooth meaning, meeting the publishing standards and customer requirements.
Compare the original manuscript and the typesetting manuscript word by word, identify and correct spelling errors, grammatical errors, numerical errors, and inconsistent proper nouns.
Collaborate with the editing and design team to propose reasonable suggestions on page layout, paragraph spacing, font use, etc., to enhance overall publication quality and reading experience.
Handle different types of text, including academic papers, business copy, literary works and government documents, etc., adjust the focus and level of detail of proofreading according to project requirements.
Work requirements
Proficient in Cantonese, with excellent Chinese reading and writing abilities, familiar with the Chinese character system and Hong Kong's common language and writing conventions (such as the "Common Character Shape Table" and the "Hong Kong Computer Chinese Reference Character Shape").
Careful and meticulous, with a high level of focus and responsibility, able to handle repetitive and precise text work for a long time.
No academic qualifications or work experience restrictions, welcome fresh graduates, career changers and senior word workers to apply; those with publishing, education, media or public service-related backgrounds are especially welcome.
Holding a valid Hong Kong work visa, including but not limited to Hong Kong permanent residency, high-end talent pass (High Talent Pass), excellent talent entry plan (Excellent Talent Pass), non-local graduate retention/return employment arrangement (IANG), dependent visa or other valid work permit.
