Job Description
Trader
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for executing buy and sell orders for financial products such as stocks, futures, foreign exchange or fixed income, and strictly adhering to risk management policies and compliance requirements.
- Closely monitor market trends, economic data releases, and sudden events, and immediately evaluate their impact on the investment portfolio and make corresponding trading decisions.
- Collaborate closely with the research team, sales and trading department and customer manager to understand investment strategy goals and customer needs, and provide executable market views and liquidity support.
- Daily complete transaction records, position reconciliation and profit and loss analysis to ensure accurate and error-free accounting, and timely submit internal risk and compliance reports.
- Participate in trading system testing and optimization work, propose process improvement suggestions, enhance trading efficiency, reduce operational risks and system delays.
Work requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics or related sciences; those with CFA, FRM, SFC licensed qualifications (such as Category 1, 7) are given priority.
- Have at least two years of real-time trading experience at a securities firm, bank trading desk, hedge fund or market maker institution, familiar with the operation mechanism of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Futures Exchange and mainstream international trading venues.
- Proficient in mainstream trading systems (such as Bloomberg, Tradeweb, MarketAxess, Fidessa or internal OMS/EMS platforms), with basic VBA or Python data processing skills being an added bonus.
- Have excellent communication and coordination skills and business acumen, be able to clearly explain transaction logic and risk exposure to cross-functional colleagues, and maintain internal and external cooperation relationships with a professional attitude.
