Job Responsibilities:
The main responsibility of the elderly care assistant is to take care of the daily life and health of the residents, ensuring that they live in a comfortable, safe and hygienic environment. Specific tasks include assisting residents with personal hygiene care (such as bathing, using the toilet, changing clothes), providing meal arrangements and eating assistance, especially for those who are mobility impaired or require special care. In addition, they also need to assist residents with daily activities such as getting up, going to bed, and joint exercises, and keep the dormitory environment clean and safe. The care assistant also needs to accompany residents to follow up on their medical conditions or participate in medical procedures, monitor their vital signs (such as blood pressure, body temperature, pulse) and record relevant data, and at the same time assist medical staff in completing simple medical procedures such as changing dressings and assisting with medication. In necessary situations, the care assistant should provide emotional support and psychological care to the residents, and provide basic first aid in emergency situations. Other work responsibilities include recording the residents’ health conditions and care, reporting to medical staff, assisting in organizing recreational activities, and maintaining good communication with the residents’ families, answering questions and providing assistance.
Requirements:
1. Hold relevant nursing qualifications, such as a nursing assistant certificate or a personal care assistant certificate.
2. Relevant work experience is preferred, especially those with a background in elderly care homes.
3. Need to have high patience and love, be able to cope with hateful work and sudden situations.
4. Have good communication skills and team spirit, be able to effectively interact with colleagues, medical staff and relatives of patients.
5. Basic computer operations skills for recording and managing file data.
6. Passionate about elderly care, willing to learn new knowledge to enhance professional skills.
