Take full responsibility for the end-to-end management and technical implementation of the Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) discipline, including but not limited to plumbing & drainage, high voltage electrical, extra low voltage (ELV) systems, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), and fire services systems.
Review and audit MEP working drawings, shop drawings and detailed design, to optimize MEP Integration and spatial coordination, and eliminate avoidable post-construction rework.
Manage and control the sizing & selection, procurement, incoming inspection & acceptance, and installation quality of critical MEP equipment, including transformers, HVAC chiller units, water pumps and other related plant and equipment.
Supervise the MEP construction progress, and coordinate clash resolution and interface conflicts between Civil & Structural (C&S), MEP and other interfacing project disciplines.
Review MEP works quantities and payment applications, and implement strict control over MEP project cost, variation orders (VO) and site certification documents.
Liaise with Hong Kong statutory authorities including the Fire Services Department (FSD) and Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD), and take charge of all MEP-related statutory submissions, approvals and acceptance formalities (including the issue of Completion Certificates).
Ensure full compliance of all MEP systems with Hong Kong’s statutory safety, environmental protection and energy efficiency regulations, and guarantee the stable, reliable and safe operation of all installed equipment and systems.
Manage MEP consultants and contractors, review and audit critical construction methodologies, as well as safety and technical measures for key construction works.
Be responsible for the full commissioning and trial operation of all MEP systems, to ensure full compliance with the specified functional and performance requirements.
Resolve on-site emergency breakdowns of MEP systems, organize urgent repair works, and minimize adverse impacts on the overall construction programme.
Take charge of the review, verification and standardized archiving of all MEP-related project documents, drawings, and testing & commissioning (T&C) reports.
Assist the Executive Manager in risk identification, assessment and statutory compliance management for all MEP-related works.
Proficient in the full suite of Microsoft Office applications and CAD software, with basic CAD drafting capability, and equipped with sound interpersonal communication and coordination skills.
In-depth mastery of Hong Kong’s MEP statutory codes and specifications, Fire Services Ordinance (FSO), and the statutory approval procedures of relevant government authorities.
Thorough familiarity with MEP integrated services design and spatial coordination; candidates with MEP project delivery experience in data centres or large-scale commercial buildings are highly preferred.
Equipped with excellent cross-disciplinary communication skills, with the ability to liaise smoothly and effectively with design consultants, Civil & Structural (C&S) construction teams and relevant statutory authorities.
Language Requirements: Fluent in verbal and written Cantonese, English and Mandarin, with proven proficiency in handling and preparing formal engineering documentation and correspondences.
Willing to undertake other ad-hoc non-specialized duties and assignments as duly delegated by the project management team.
