<p>Duties</p><p>The appointee will be responsible for:</p><p>Leadership: Oversee operations and project implementation for the education IT Help Centre, Student Computing Center, Teaching & Learning technology, AV/IT facilities, and Cloud collaboration tools.</p><p>Resource Alignment: Continuously track and report on service performance metrics to align IT support resources with user demand.</p><p>User Engagement: Collaborate with user units, communicate effectively, and provide training to promote the adoption of common technology standards and solutions.</p><p>Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance the student learning experience through AI and digital transformation, managing stakeholders in academic units for Teaching, Learning, and Assessment adoption.</p><p>Innovative Solutions: Identify and source technology solutions to support the execution of the University’s strategic plan.</p><p>Coaching and Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to talent within the User Support Services Section.</p><p>Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Office or their delegates.</p><p>Qualifications</p><p>Applicants should possess:</p><p>Educational Background: A recognized degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.</p><p>Managerial Experience: At least ten years of experience in leading IT teams to deliver support services and implement technology projects within sizeable organizations.</p><p>Expectation Management: Ability to manage end-user expectations and implement technology-driven process changes to enhance efficiency in study administration activities.</p><p>Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience with agile methodologies to develop new digital capabilities using Large Language Models and advanced prompting techniques.</p><p>Communication Skills: Excellent spoken and written communication skills in both English and Chinese, including Putonghua.</p><p>Relevant Experience: Experience in deploying Teaching & Learning technology with AI agents and LangGraph in a higher education context is a significant advantage.</p><p>Position name: Associate IT Director<br><br>Job Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Responsible for leading the education institution IT help center, student computing center, teaching and learning technologies, audiovisual/IT facilities, and school cloud collaboration tools operation and project implementation</li><li>Continuously track and report service performance indicators to ensure IT support resources align with user needs</li><li>Collaborate with user units, conduct effective communication, and provide training to promote the adoption of universal technical standards and solutions</li><li>Push through artificial intelligence and digital transformation to enhance students’ learning experience, coordinate academic units in teaching, learning and evaluation</li><li>Identify and introduce technical solutions to support the execution of the university's strategic plan</li><li>Provide guidance and coaching to members of the user support service team, and cultivate team talents</li><li>Complete other responsibilities assigned by the office director or his authorized representative</li></ul><p><br>Work requirements</p><ul><li>Must hold a recognized bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related fields</li><li>Need to have at least ten years of rich experience in leading IT teams in large organizations to provide support services and implement technical projects</li><li>Have good terminal user expectation management skills, and be able to improve learning management efficiency through technology-driven process improvement</li><li>Practical experience in using large language models and advanced prompt techniques, using agile methods to develop new digital capabilities</li><li>Have excellent written and oral communication skills in Chinese and English (including Mandarin)</li><li>Applicants with relevant experience in deploying artificial intelligence agents and LangGraph applications in teaching and learning technologies in higher education environments will be given priority</li></ul>
