Volunteer: Children Development Fund Tutor for New Home Association Kowloon West Service Unit

New Home Association was established in June 2010, with services covering Hong Kong and the mainland. It is a charity dedicated to serving newcomers, ethnic minorities and other vulnerable groups; providing quality and professional one-stop social services, encouraging them to actively participate in and contribute to Hong Kong's construction, promoting community participation, promoting social integration, and creating an equal and caring society. To meet the development and needs of society, the Association actively expands various service plans to provide social welfare services to newcomers, ethnic minorities and other vulnerable groups, with service units scattered in Shau Kei Wan, Kowloon Tong, Huang Tai Chi, Yau Ma Tei, Jordan, Tseung Kwan O, Tseung Kwan O, Shatin and other areas, and the number and scope of beneficiaries continue to increase. In 2011, the National Social Service Center was established to provide quality, professional, and cross-regional one-stop social services to mainlanders preparing to settle in Hong Kong and Hong Kong residents living on the mainland. Project DetailsWhat We Need

• Monthly at least once with students have contact or communication, provide guidance, support and encouragement to students, and share growth experiences, and assist students in establishing and implementing personal development planning
• Attend a three-year training program, with at least two training sessions per year and one meeting
• With children's gatherings, there is an activity allowance

Background Children's Development Fund was established in 2008 and is a cross-sectoral collaboration project that combines community families, business and government resources. It aims to promote the long-term development of disadvantaged children and thus reduce intergenerational poverty. The Foundation disburses grants to non-governmental organizations and schools in batches to implement plans in various districts of Hong Kong, encourage children to plan their lives, cultivate saving habits, and accumulate intangible assets such as positive attitude, resilience, and social network, thereby laying a foundation for future development. Each fund plan is for three years and includes three main elements: "Personal Development Planning", "Target Saving", and "Mentor-Mentee Pairing". The plan also includes training and value-added activities for participating children, their parents and mentors to give children sufficient support on their personal development journey.
