As a Business Development and Growth Manager (China Pharmaceutical Focus), you will source and build strategic partnerships, drive revenue growth initiatives, and expand the ecosystem within China’s dynamic pharmaceutical industry. This role is responsible for identifying, structuring, negotiating, and executing high-impact revenue-generating opportunities — including licensing, co-development, distribution, and strategic alliances — that align with the company’s long-term growth strategy in the China market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor market trends in China’s pharmaceutical sector (including innovative drugs, biologics, generics, and regulatory developments under NMPA policies) and identify new business opportunities across therapeutic areas and related industries.

  • Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to support strategic decision-making in the China pharma landscape.

  • Identify, evaluate, and develop strategic partnerships with key external stakeholders such as domestic pharmaceutical and biotech companies, international licensors, distributors, CROs/CMOs, hospitals, and government-related entities.

  • Lead commercial discussions, including structuring, negotiating, and finalizing agreements (e.g., in-licensing/out-licensing, co-development, distribution, and joint ventures).

  • Prepare business proposals, presentations, pitch decks, and supporting materials tailored for internal leadership and external pharma stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., product/R&D, operations, marketing, regulatory affairs, and legal) to implement partnership and growth initiatives successfully.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in business development, partnerships, sales strategy, or corporate development — ideally within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.

  • Proven ability to identify opportunities and support the full execution of commercial agreements in a regulated environment.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with fluency in Mandarin and English (Cantonese an advantage).

  • Experience working in the China pharmaceutical market, or in structured, highly regulated, or technology-driven environments (e.g., NMPA compliance, biotech innovation) is a strong advantage.
