Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer with expertise in Python programming and Apache Spark to join our team. The ideal candidate will also have experience in Unix shell scripting and a strong foundation in data processing and analytics.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement data pipelines using Python and Apache Spark.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and analytics requirements.
- Write Unix shell scripts for data manipulation and automation tasks.
- Optimize existing data processing workflows for improved performance and efficiency.
- Perform data quality checks and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
- Document data processes and methodologies for future reference.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data engineering.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in Python programming and Apache Spark.
- Strong understanding of Unix shell scripting and command-line tools.
- Familiarity with data storage and retrieval technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
