Job Description
- Assist dentists during patient examinations and procedures by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and handing instruments as needed.
- Perform basic clinical tasks including taking dental X-rays, applying topical anesthetics, and placing dental dams or suction devices.
- Manage patient intake by reviewing medical histories, updating records, scheduling appointments, and explaining treatment plans or post-procedure instructions.
- Maintain infection control standards by following OSHA and CDC guidelines for disinfection, waste disposal, and personal protective equipment usage.
- Support office operations through billing assistance, insurance form completion, inventory management of supplies, and maintaining organized patient files.
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program or equivalent on-the-job training; certification (e.g., CDA) preferre
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining attention to detail and confidentiality
