Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing one-to-one or small group mathematics tutoring to primary and secondary school students, covering a range of courses including but not limited to basic arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics and probability, functions and public examination (such as DSE, HKAT, school-based tests) test-taking strategies.
  • Design personalized lesson plans and practice questions based on students’ individual learning levels, weaknesses, and progress, and regularly update teaching content to align with school curriculum progress and exam outline adjustments.
  • Class emphasizes logical thinking training and problem-solving method guidance, encourages questioning and interaction, and helps students build mathematical concept understanding rather than simply memorizing formulas.
  • Regularly conduct small tests and simulated evaluations, analyze student performance and write a concise learning report, clearly feedback to parents on learning progress, improvement points, and subsequent enhancement suggestions.
  • In accordance with the institution's teaching management requirements, participate in teacher preparation meetings, teaching materials development, and necessary administrative support work (such as classroom recordings, grade recordings, etc.).

Work requirements

  • Holding a locally recognized education diploma (PGDE), bachelor's degree or above, majoring in mathematics, education or related sciences is preferred; those with teaching experience in primary or secondary school mathematics are especially good.
  • Familiar with local Hong Kong courses (such as S1-S6 mathematics courses, DSE mathematics paper I and paper II assessment focus), understand common student learning difficulties and effective breakthrough methods.
  • Have good expression and patience, be able to explain abstract mathematical concepts in a clear, vivid and easy-to-understand way, and adjust teaching tone and pace according to different stages of cognitive development of students of different grades.
  • Have basic information and communication technology application skills, and be able to use electronic whiteboards and online teaching platforms (such as Zoom) to assist teaching.
  • Love teaching work, attach importance to teacher ethics and student well-being, be punctual and responsible, be able to stabilize long-term teaching arrangements, and be willing to continue to participate in professional development activities.
