Responsibilities:

• Oversee all financial operations, including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and treasury functions

• Ensure ongoing compliance with SFC Financial Resources Rules (liquid capital, paid-up capital requirements for Type 1/4/9 activities), prepare and submit timely FRR returns, financial resources notifications and annual audited accounts to the SFC

• Act as (or support) the Manager-In-Charge (MIC) of the Finance and Accounting core function; maintain accountability for financial reporting, internal controls and financial soundness as per SFC guidelines

• Lead month-end/year-end closing, financial statement preparation (HKFRS/IFRS compliant), management accounts and variance analysis

• Coordinate external audits, tax filings (profits tax, stamp duty where applicable), and liaise with auditors, tax advisors and regulators

• Manage accounting systems, financial controls, expense approvals and payment processes; ensure segregation of duties and anti-fraud measures

• Monitor client money handling, segregated accounts and trust account reconciliations in line with SFC Client Money Rules and anti-money laundering requirements

• Provide financial insights and analysis to senior management, Board and investment/operations teams to support business decisions, performance tracking and risk management

• Develop and update finance policies, procedures and internal controls; identify and mitigate financial risks.

• Collaborate with compliance, risk, operations and legal teams to ensure integrated financial and regulatory framework.

Requirements:

• University degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline; professional qualification essential (HKICPA/CPA, ACCA or equivalent).

• At least 8–12 years of relevant finance experience, with 5+ years in senior finance roles within SFC-licensed corporations (Type 1, 4 and/or 9 preferred; asset management, securities dealing or advisory exposure essential).

• Solid understanding of SFC Financial Resources Rules, Securities and Futures Ordinance (SFO), FRR reporting, client assets rules and HKFRS/IFRS

• Prior experience as MIC of Finance and Accounting or handling SFC financial regulatory filings is highly advantageous

• Strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills; proficient in financial modeling and ERP/accounting systems (e.g. QuickBooks, Xero, or similar)

• Detail-oriented, proactive, able to work independently under pressure in a dynamic regulated environment

• Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)
