Job Description
Pain Management Therapist (Part-time/Full-time/Partner)
Job Responsibilities
- Provide professional pain evaluation and non-drug intervention for patients, including hand therapy, exercise therapy, neuro-muscular re-education, and physical factor therapy, etc., and tailor individualized treatment plans for common painful conditions such as chronic neck, shoulder, back, and leg pain, joint degeneration, postoperative pain, and fibromyalgia.
- Based on international clinical guidelines and evidence-based medicine principles, conduct systematic history taking, motion function testing, posture analysis, and pain map drawing, accurately identifying the root cause of pain and related biomechanical imbalances.
- Guide patients to implement home self-management strategies, including appropriate stretching and strengthening exercises, daily activity adjustments, stress management techniques, and pain cognitive behavioral education, to promote long-term symptom control and prevent recurrence.
- Continuously record treatment progress, stage-by-stage effectiveness and functional improvement indicators, complete medical record writing and electronic medical record updates according to the standard, and ensure that the service meets the local medical laws and professional ethical requirements.
- Have three or more years of pain specialty clinical experience, familiar with the pathophysiology and comprehensive treatment model of common musculoskeletal system pain, and able to independently judge the appropriate time to refer to specialized medical care.
- Proficient in at least two evidence-based pain treatment techniques and able to integrate them flexibly based on patient conditions.
- Have good Chinese (Cantonese and written) communication skills, and be able to clearly explain the patient's condition, treatment principles and expected goals to patients of different ages and educational backgrounds.
- Value professional ethics and human concern, have empathy, patience and stable emotional management skills, be able to maintain a positive and supportive attitude when facing long-term pain patients, and abide by the principle of confidentiality and medical ethical norms.
