The General Manager (GM) of the 212HK pickleball club is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing major aspects of the club’s operations, ensuring exceptional member experiences, driving growth, and fostering a vibrant community. The GM will manage staff, facilities, programs, and partnerships while upholding the club’s mission to be the premier destination for pickleball enthusiasts in Hong Kong.
Key Responsibilities
1. Memberships and Business Development
Grow memberships through direct membership sales, corporate packages, school packages and member referrals.
Build relationships with vendors, sponsors, and pickleball associations to enhance club’s profile.
Build a corporate and private events revenue stream.
2. Member Experience & Engagement
Cultivate a welcoming, inclusive environment focused on member delight.
Address member feedback promptly and implement improvement initiatives.
Working with the Director of Pickleball, organize social events, tournaments, and leagues to enhance community engagement.
Manage communication channels (newsletters, social media, app updates) in coordination with Marketing team.
3. Staff Leadership & Development
Recruit, train, and supervise staff, including but not limited to Sales, member relations, front desk personnel, and maintenance teams.
Foster a positive work culture through mentorship, leadership and guidance.
4. Financial Oversight
Deliver financial performance against key metrics.
Deliver revenue growth in line with financial projections.
Control costs and optimize resource allocation for revenue maximization.
5. Marketing & Community Outreach
Execute marketing plans to boost membership and brand visibility via digital platforms, partnerships, and events.
Collaborate with local businesses, schools, and organizations to expand outreach.
Stay updated on industry trends to innovate offerings.
Key requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience: 5+ years in club/recreation management or sales-focused role; pickleball industry experience preferred.
Language: Fluent in English is a must; Fluency in Cantonese will be highly advantageous, and spoken Mandarin will be an advantage.
Skills:
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in financial and people management, as well as CRM software.
- Passion for pickleball and community building will be a plus.
