Hong Kong Anglican Welfare Association (hereinafter referred to as 'the Association'), since its establishment in 1966, has set an example in the field of social welfare in Hong Kong society. As one of the largest social service agencies within the Anglican Communion, the Association upholds its mission of "following Christ's footsteps, understanding societal needs, practicing righteousness and love, providing appropriate services that transform lives, and living out human dignity and value." It is dedicated to offering people-centered and diversified services for individuals of all ages and strata, while also promoting social services in Macau and domestic missions. The scope of services provided by the Association is extensive, covering elderly care, childcare, youth, family, and comprehensive services, and continuously expanding into rehabilitation, counseling, medical, training, and consultancy services. Additionally, the association actively participates in social enterprise projects and short-term food aid programs to respond to various societal needs. After years of development, the Association now operates over 250 service units and institutions in Hong Kong, Macau, and Guangzhou, forming a comprehensive and closely connected service network. Since its inception, the Association has been a pioneer in social service innovation. In 1996, it became the first social service agency in Hong Kong to employ full-time personnel to promote occupational safety, reflecting its ongoing efforts to enhance service quality. In terms of innovative service models, the Association continues to explore areas such as service provision in the Greater Bay Area, transformative social work, and collaboration among multidisciplinary teams, striving to meet the needs of different groups across all levels of society, showcasing its role as a leader in social service organizations.
