Your Role

To serve as an interpreter for the Japanese-speaking patients and doctors as well as supports the operations of clinic. Convey medical information between speakers of Japanese and English/ Cantonese languages according to the policies and procedures of clinic relating to patient confidentiality, informed consent, non – discrimination, code of ethics and standards of practice. In addition, supports the clerical and administrative duties required to ensure excellent and quality services to all patients and in compliant with the regulations and laws according to the Department of Health, Hong Kong SAR.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accurately translate medical documents, reports, and correspondence between English (or Cantonese) and Japanese

2. Coordinate and liaise with Japanese-speaking patients, arranging appointments, providing updates, and addressing queries

3. Assist in the interpretation of medical consultations and procedures, ensuring a clear understanding for all parties

4. Maintain detailed records and documentation related to Japanese client interactions

5. Support the medical team in understanding the cultural nuances and preferences of Japanese patients

6. Contribute to the development of multilingual resources and tools to enhance patient experience

Requirements

1. Fluency in both English and Japanese, with excellent translation and interpreting skills. It is an advantage if you have TOEIC, TOEFL, or IELTS.

2. Minimum 3 years of experience in a medical translation or coordination role, preferably within the healthcare industry

3. Strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures in both languages

4. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with patients and medical professionals

5. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records

6. Proficiency in using relevant translation software and technology

Working Condition:

1. Working Hours: Shift system between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM (8-hour workday)

2. Days Off: 8 days per month (shift-based)

3. Salary: Determined based on experience and ability
