About Our Firm
We are a multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy delivering practical, buildable and commercially focused solutions across the region. Guided by "Engineering for Construction" and our culture of "Delivering Together," we combine design, site and dispute advisory expertise to help clients deliver complex projects with confidence. We are seeking an ambitious Engineering Manager to lead our Hong Kong technical team and support our next stage of growth.
The Role & Strategic Vision
As Engineering Manager, you will lead a boutique Hong Kong technical hub focused on premium specialist work rather than low-margin mass-market projects. Your portfolio will cover three pillars: Specialist Structural Temporary Works; Expert Witness and Technical Dispute Advisory; and Condition Surveying, Remedial Engineering and Technical Project Management.
You will work closely with group directors, draw on the heavy-rail and complex infrastructure experience of our regional headquarters, and build strong pipelines with corporate partners, institutional clients and specialist delivery teams.
The role is based in Hong Kong and involves projects across Hong Kong and Southeast Asia, requiring confidence with international standards, regional codes and cross-border commercial terms.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Leadership & Portfolio Delivery
a) Lead specialist structural and temporary works projects, including deep excavations, lateral support and construction-stage engineering.
b) Provide forensic analysis, technical appraisals and structural reports for expert witness, diagnostic and dispute matters.
c) Oversee condition surveys and remedial specifications, including AI- or robotics-enabled engineering works.
2. Strategic Operations & Hub Leadership
a) Manage daily engineering and project operations for the Hong Kong office.
b) Mentor junior staff and coordinate resources, quality reviews and technical support with regional headquarters.
c) Maintain disciplined file management and data safety protocols for project, design and legal records.
3. Client & Stakeholder Management
a) Act as a trusted technical advisor to professional firms, institutional clients and project stakeholders.
b) Prepare commercial proposals and coordinate integrated consultancy, delivery and subcontractor arrangements.
c) Represent the firm with professionalism, ethics, emotional intelligence and technical credibility.
Required Qualifications & Experience
a) Degree in Civil, Structural or Geotechnical Engineering.
b) Chartered Engineer, MICE, MIStructE or Hong Kong RPE qualification preferred.
c) 8–10 years’ experience in structural design, site supervision or construction engineering.
d) Temporary works, value engineering, forensic engineering or claims experience preferred.
e) Collaborative leadership style and belief in synchronized team performance.
f) Strong record of commitment, reliability and career stability.
g) Professional English and Cantonese; Mandarin is an advantage.
Required Team Spirit
a) Integrity, diligence and intelligence, with integrity valued above all.
b) Empathetic leadership and clear, respectful communication.
c) Resilience, calm judgment and a sustainable team mindset.
d) Constructive conflict resolution and a solution-oriented approach.
e) Commercial judgment to identify opportunities, manage risk and protect margins.
f) Awareness of finance, HR, resource planning and boutique hub operations.
i. Finance literacy in budgeting, cash flow and cost tracking.
ii. HR awareness in team management, monitoring and workplace culture.
Language Requirements
1) English: Fluent written and spoken communication skills are required, with a strong emphasis on professional and technical precision for engineering documentation.
2) Cantonese: Fluent spoken and interpersonal communication skills are required for day-to-day project coordination.
3) Mandarin: Spoken and written Mandarin proficiency is not compulsory; however, advanced skills are highly valued and considered an advantage.
Note to Applicants: To support an efficient recruitment process, candidates should apply only if they meet the English and Cantonese requirements above. Mandarin proficiency is advantageous but not compulsory.
What We Offer
