Job Description
Applications are invited for appointment as Scientific Officer in Apex Medical Group

Limited.

The appointee will mainly be responsible for:

1. Coordinating and leading a research team to support ongoing research projects;

2.Developing new medical test methods and validating novel analysis platforms;

3. Provide training and conduct evaluation to junior staffs;

4.Processing output data and report drafting;

5.Maintain good communication and liaison with stake holders;

6.Participate in various conferences and presentations; and

7. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Manager or his/her delegate

Candidate Requirements:

1. A recognized Doctoral degree or above in medicine, health sciences, statistics

and informatics or related disciplines;

2. Minimum of 2 years’ proven experience in coordinating and managing research

projects, including planning, execution and reporting across multidisciplinary

teams;

3.Minimum of 4 years relative work experiences either in wet laboratory environment or in performing statistical data analysis.

4.Minimum of 1 year supervisory skills

5.Fluent command of written and spoken English, Cantonese and/or Mandarin

Preferable Attributes/Exposure:

1. Relevant experiences in conducting medical diagnostic tests and/or health

informatics.

2. Proficiency in using statistical analysis software such as R, Python, SQL or SAS

3. Holder of a valid registration and practicing certificate issued by a recognized

health professional regulatory body in Hong Kong, such as the Medical Council, Nursing Council, or boards under the Supplementary Medical Professions Council.

4. Good communications and team work skills

Terms and Conditions for Appointment

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be

offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.

Selected candidate will be employed on a fixed-term contract for up to 3 years under the support by the

Research Talent Hub for ITF projects (RTH-ITF).

For research talent with a degree obtained from a non-local institution, he/she is eligible to participate in the RTH-ITF if the qualification awarding institution is among the top 100 institutions for STEM-related subjects in the latest publication of QS

World University Ranking, ARWU, THE World University Rankings and USNWR.

Applicants who are expected to complete their academic programme as stipulated in

candidate requirement by September 2025 may also apply.

If selected, their appointment will be subject to them having successful completion of all required qualifications.

Mandatory Provident Fund contributions will also be made at 5% of the employee’s

relevant income, subject to relevant income levels.
