Fixed-term project contract (2 years), part-time (0.25 FTE – approximately 10 hours per week, with flexible scheduling available based on project needs and the candidate’s availability).
Key Responsibilities
• Provide specialist palliative care consultations for patients with life-limiting illnesses, focusing on relieving symptoms such as pain, dyspnea, nausea, insomnia, and anxiety[8].
• Develop and implement individualized palliative care plans, integrating best practices in modern palliative care to ensure the safety, gentleness, and alignment with patients’ preferences.
• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments to understand patients’ physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, ensuring care services are tailored to individual circumstances.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team (including palliative care nurses, social workers, Western medicine physicians, and counselors) to deliver holistic care, share professional knowledge, and contribute to integrated care strategies.
• Provide support and education to patients’ families, offering guidance on simple comfort measures and emotional support techniques to help them cope with the challenges of end-of-life care.
• Participate in project meetings, data collection, and quality improvement initiatives to evaluate the effectiveness of palliative care and contribute to the overall goals of the project[8].
• Strictly adhere to all relevant medical regulations, ethical standards, and internal institutional rules to ensure the standardization and safety of care services.
Qualifications & Registration (Essential):
• Medical degree from a recognized institution.
• Full registration with the Medical Council of Hong Kong and a license to practise.
