Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Technical Director to lead our radar and maritime communication technology division. The successful candidate will oversee the development, integration, and operational excellence of advanced radar systems and maritime communication solutions, ensuring compliance with international standards and driving innovation in maritime situational awareness and fleet communications.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead the technical strategy, architecture design, and development of radar and maritime communication systems, including phased array radar, Secured AIS, VTS radar, and integrated maritime situational awareness platforms.
· Oversee the full lifecycle of technical projects, from concept through design, prototyping, testing, and deployment.
· Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary engineering team, fostering innovation and technical excellence.
· Ensure all systems comply with relevant maritime regulations and standards (IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM).
· Collaborate with product management, operations, and external stakeholders including classification societies, port authorities, and defense organizations.
· Drive research and development initiatives in radar signal processing, electronic protection, and maritime communication protocols.
· Lead budgeting, resource allocation, and cost control for technical projects and maintenance programs.
· Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement across technical operations.
· Support integration of radar and communication systems into broader maritime platforms and digital ecosystems.
Qualifications and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related technical field.
· Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in radar system design, maritime communication technology, secured Automatic Information Technology, or related fields.
· Proven leadership experience managing technical teams in maritime, defense, or communications sectors.
· Strong knowledge of radar technologies (including Phased Array radar, VTS radar), maritime communication systems (AIS, satellite, radio), and system integration.
· Experience with system architecture design, and software/hardware integration.
· Excellent communication skills, capable of delivering technical presentations and reports to diverse audiences.
· Must hold Hong Kong permanent . Familiarity with maritime regulations and safety standards
