Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • AI-Centric Design & Development: Architect, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services and APIs specifically for Generative AI use-cases.

  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, manage, and coach junior developers and analysts, fostering a culture of quality, best practices, and continuous learning.

  • System Analysis & Scalable Design: Analyze complex system requirements to design scalable, efficient, and maintainable solutions that support AI-driven workloads.

  • Database & Vector Management: Design and optimize databases (SQL/NoSQL) and vector stores, ensuring supreme data integrity, performance, and relevance for AI applications.

  • Gen AI Integration & Implementation: Directly integrate and optimize Generative AI models and services (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, open-source LLMs) into production backend systems.

  • Code Quality & Review: Champion code quality, performance, and security through rigorous code reviews and the establishment of team standards.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with frontend developers, product managers, and business stakeholders to deliver cohesive and high-impact products.

  • Performance Troubleshooting: Proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve system performance, scalability, and integration challenges.

  • Technical Documentation: Create and maintain clear, comprehensive technical documentation for system architectures, APIs, and development processes.

Essential Qualifications (Must-Have):

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Experience:

    • 8+ years of professional experience in backend development and system architecture.

    • Proven, hands-on experience in designing, building, and deploying Generative AI applications (e.g., RAG, AI agents, LLM fine-tuning, prompt engineering systems). This is a non-negotiable requirement.

  • Technical Skills (Core):

    • Expert-level proficiency in Python is mandatory for AI/ML development and integration.

    • Deep experience with database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector).

    • Strong expertise in designing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.

    • Proficient with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker).

    • Expert use of version control (Git) and CI/CD principles.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have):

  • Experience with additional backend languages (e.g., Java, Node.js, .NET Core).

  • Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform or CloudFormation.

  • Orchestration with Kubernetes.

  • Familiarity with MLOps/LLMOps practices and tools.

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
