Finance Director / Finance Manager (Trading industry is a MUST, Travel needed)

Lead a finance team of 2-3 and manage complex trade finance operations and build strategic relationships with global banking partners.

This role focuses on optimizing financial workflows for subsidiaries, ensuring seamless cross-border transactions, and securing trade facilities in key regions:

Responsibilities

• Trade Finance Execution:

o Lead Letter of Credit (LC) issuance, negotiation, and discrepancies resolution across jurisdictions.

o Manage bank account openings, credit facilities, and trade financing instruments (e.g., bank guarantees, export/import loans).

o Oversee trade documentation (B/L, invoices, certificates of origin) and customs clearance processes.

• Bank Relationship Management:

o Negotiate terms with international banks and financial institutions to secure competitive facilities.

o Monitor compliance with banking regulations (e.g., AML, KYC) in target regions.

• Risk & Compliance:

o Mitigate financial risks related to currency fluctuations, payment delays, and counter-party credibility.

o Ensure adherence to international trade laws (e.g., UCP600, ISBP).

• Cross-functional Collaboration:

o Work closely with subsidiaries, logistics teams, and external auditors to align financial strategies.

o Provide insights on regional banking practices and regulatory updates.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA/CPA/ACCA preferred.

Certifications in trade finance (e.g., CDCS, CSDG) are highly valued.

Minimum 8 years in trade finance, with a focus on cross-border transactions and LC management.

Proven track record in negotiating facilities with banks in Southeast Asia, Mainland China, Africa, or the South Pacific.

Mastery of trade finance tools (e.g., SWIFT, trade portals) and Incoterms 2020.

Deep understanding of customs procedures, tariffs, and export/import documentation.

Fluent English and Mandarin (written and spoken) are mandatory.
